Hard Rock Hotel and Casino
Hard Rock Hotel and Casino is a global chain of casino resorts and hotels owned by Hard Rock International, which also runs the Hard Rock Café restaurants. The brand began with the first Hard Rock Hotel near the Las Vegas Strip in 1995, expanded in 1999, and over the years grew into a large network of hotel-casino properties around the world.
Hard Rock International formed in 2006 after the Seminole Tribe of Florida bought the Hard Rock brand from the Rank Group. The Las Vegas property has changed hands several times, including a 2018 sale to Richard Branson to become Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, which opened in 2021. Today, Hard Rock continues to expand globally, with ongoing renovations and new hotels and casinos planned in various locations, including Athens, Greece, Bogotá, Colombia, London, Ontario, and other sites in the Americas and Europe. The company is also pursuing renovation and rebranding efforts for properties like The Mirage in Las Vegas, aiming to reopen as Hard Rock Las Vegas in 2027.
