Halorubrum coriense is a salt-loving archaeon (a tiny organism from the domain Archaea). It belongs to the genus Halorubrum and the family Halorubraceae. The binomial name is Halorubrum coriense. It was first described in 1996 by Kamekura and Dyall-Smith, with Oren and Ventosa also noted in 1996. The species has been called Halorubrobacterium coriense, and there is an orthographic variant Halorubrobacterium coriensis.
