HMS H44 was a Royal Navy H-class submarine built by Armstrong Whitworth. She was launched on 17 February 1919, commissioned on 15 April 1920, and served through the Second World War. She was sold in 1944 and broken up at Troon in February 1945.

Like other H-class submarines, H44 displaced about 423 long tons on the surface and 510 long tons when submerged. She was about 171 feet long and 15 feet 4 inches wide. She used a diesel engine plus two electric motors for propulsion, giving around 13 knots on the surface and about 11 knots submerged. Her range was about 2,985 nautical miles at 7.5 knots on the surface, and about 130 nautical miles at 2 knots when submerged. The crew numbered 22.

Armament included four bow torpedo tubes (carrying eight torpedoes) and, after refitting, a QF 6-pounder anti-aircraft gun.
