Clarice de' Medici
Clarice di Piero de' Medici (14 September 1489 – 3 May 1528) was an Italian noblewoman from the Medici family. Born in Florence, she was the daughter of Piero di Lorenzo de' Medici and Alfonsina Orsini, the granddaughter of Lorenzo de' Medici, and sister of Lorenzo II de' Medici. She was also the niece of Pope Leo X. After her brother’s early death in 1519, Clarice helped educate his daughter Catherine, who would become Queen of France. In 1508 she married Filippo Strozzi the Younger and moved to Rome. They had ten children: Piero Strozzi, Maria Strozzi, Leone Strozzi, Luisa Strozzi, Roberto Strozzi, Maddalena Strozzi, Giulio Strozzi, Lorenzo Strozzi, Vincenzo Strozzi, and Alessandro Strozzi. Clarice died in 1528, possibly from a miscarriage or complications from a stillborn child.
