Gunbrella is a 2023 action-adventure game by Doinksoft, published by Devolver Digital. A gruff woodsman seeks revenge, armed with the Gunbrella—a gun that doubles as an umbrella. The game blends platforming and shooting, using the umbrella to fight, block, and traverse via ziplines. It released on September 13, 2023 for Windows and Nintendo Switch. Set in a dystopian steampunk world, you explore side-scrolling levels, solve puzzles, and meet cops, cultists, and ghouls, collecting scrap and spare parts to upgrade gear and ammo. The story starts in a town besieged by rebels after train blockades halt travel, pushing the woodsman to uncover the Gunbrella’s origins. Doinksoft, an Oregon indie studio, also made Demon Throttle and Gato Roboto; Gunbrella was announced in May 2022 at the Nintendo Indie Showcase.
