Turkish Curling Federation
The Turkish Curling Federation (Türkiye Curling Federasyonu) is the governing body for curling in Turkey. It became an independent federation in 2016 and is based in Çankaya, Ankara.
Before 2015, curling in Turkey was managed by the Turkish Ice Skating Federation. On January 20, 2015, the Turkish Curling Federation was formed as an independent body with the approval of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The first president, Kenan Şebin, was elected at a general assembly on January 21, 2016 and took office on February 26, 2016. The federation’s board began duties on May 5, 2016. Its statutes were published in the Official Gazette and came into force on October 8, 2017.
There are 127 curling clubs registered in Turkey, with Erzurum hosting the most clubs (43).
National leagues include the Super League, First League, and Second League for both men and women. In the 2024-25 season, nine teams compete in the men’s and women’s Super Leagues, and ten teams compete in the men’s and women’s First Leagues. A total of 24 clubs participate in the top two leagues, mostly based in Erzurum.
The federation organizes several annual competitions:
- Turkish Curling Federation Cup
- Turkish Seniors Curling Tournament
- Turkish Intrauniversity Curling Championship (for male and female students)
- Turkish Schools Curling Championship (12 teams in four cities)
- Turkish High School Floor Curling Tournament (for various high school age groups in iceless curling)
- A tournament for school teachers
National junior and senior teams represent Turkey in international competitions at world and European levels.
