Grigor Dimitrov is a Bulgarian professional tennis player, born in 1991 in Haskovo and living in Monte Carlo. He turned pro in 2007 and is known for his graceful, all‑court game and his one‑handed backhand. He reached a career‑high singles ranking of world No. 3 in November 2017, the highest ranking ever for a Bulgarian man.

Dimitrov has won nine ATP singles titles, including Stockholm in 2013 (his first ATP title and the first by a Bulgarian man), the Queen’s Club tournament in 2014, Cincinnati in 2017, and the year‑end ATP Finals in 2017 (his biggest title). He has reached the semifinals at three major events: the Australian Open in 2017, Wimbledon in 2014, and the US Open in 2019. He also reached the French Open quarterfinals in 2024.

He has represented Bulgaria in the Davis Cup and was part of Europe in the Laver Cup. He played in the 2012 London and 2016 Rio Olympics. Dimitrov has over 400 career wins and has spent many years in the top 20. He was Bulgarian Sportsperson of the Year in 2014 and 2017, and won the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award in 2024.

Dimitrov’s style is noted for its variety, speed, and shot‑making. He has a powerful forehand, a versatile one‑handed backhand, and strong net play, with a knack for crowd‑pleasing trick shots. Early in his career he earned the nickname “Baby Fed” for his Federer‑like game. He has used a Wilson racket and has had sponsorships with Nike, Lacoste (since 2023), and Adidas (since 2025). As of February 2026, he was ranked about No. 43 in the world and remains an active competitor.
