Gmina Świerklany is a rural district in southern Poland, in Rybnik County, Silesian Voivodeship. Its administrative seat is the village of Jankowice Rybnickie, about 6 km south of Rybnik and 41 km southwest of Katowice. The seat used to be Świerklany Górne until 1999. The gmina covers 24.17 square kilometers. As of June 30, 2019, its population was 12,445. It includes the villages Jankowice Rybnickie, Michałkowice (part of Jankowice Rybnickie), Świerklany Dolne and Świerklany Górne. It borders the towns of Jastrzębie-Zdrój, Rybnik and Żory, and the gminas of Marklowice and Mszana. It is twinned with several towns.
