Volkswagen Group MSB platform (Modularer Standardantriebsbaukasten) is the group’s modular platform for longitudinal, front‑engine cars with rear‑ or four‑wheel drive. Developed by Porsche for vehicles with long engines and gearboxes, the MSB has been in use since 2016 and was first applied to the second‑generation Porsche Panamera, which was the first vehicle to be underpinned on this platform. It replaces the older D1 platform used by the first‑generation Panamera. The MSB supports a range of body styles—from executive to full‑size luxury and grand tourers—and can power cars with rear‑wheel drive or all‑wheel drive.
