2004–05 UC Sampdoria season
UC Sampdoria's 2004–05 season was their best in years. They finished 5th in Serie A and reached the Coppa Italia quarter-finals. The defense was outstanding, conceding only 29 goals, making them one of the league’s tightest backlines alongside Juventus and Milan. Francesco Flachi was the top scorer with 14 goals, delivering a standout season as a secondary striker. The team was coached by Walter Novellino and chaired by Riccardo Garrone, in Sampdoria’s second season back in Serie A.
