Gerd Zacher (July 6, 1929 – June 9, 2014) was a German composer, organist and music writer. He focused on modern, experimental music, often using unusual playing techniques and scores that are graphic or spoken. He performed and interpreted the works of many 20th‑century composers, including John Cage, Juan Allende-Blin, Mauricio Kagel, György Ligeti, Hans Otte, Luis de Pablo and Isang Yun. He was also known for interpreting Bach. Zacher was born in Meppen and later lived in Essen, Germany.
