Macropsobrycon

Macropsobrycon is a genus of freshwater ray-finned fish in the family Characidae, subfamily Cheirodontinae. They are native to South America. The genus was named by C. H. Eigenmann in 1915, and its type species is Macropsobrycon uruguayanae. The genus includes several valid species, including Macropsobrycon uruguayanae. These fish are part of the diverse group of characins that live in South American rivers and streams.
