George Luther
George Luther (May 3, 1823 – December 23, 1884) was a Michigan politician. Born in Livingston County, New York, he moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan, in 1841 and later settled in Lamont. He worked as a merchant. Luther was elected to the Michigan House of Representatives on November 4, 1862, and served Ottawa County’s 2nd district from January 7, 1863, until he resigned on February 25, 1865. He was a Republican and was married to Elizabeth Seymore. Luther died on December 23, 1884, and is buried in Maplewood Cemetery in Lamont.
