George Dunbar (Pennsylvania politician)

George S. Dunbar (born July 3, 1960) is a Republican who served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing the 56th district in Westmoreland County from January 4, 2011, to November 30, 2024. He lives in Penn Township, Westmoreland County, with his wife Sandra and their four children.

Dunbar was born in Pittsburgh and graduated from Taylor Allderdice High School in 1978. He earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Robert Morris University in 1993. Before entering the House, he was executive vice president of Wright Industries Inc. until 2005, ran his own consulting business from 2005 to 2007, and then served as controller and chief financial officer for Ryco Inc. until his election in 2011.

In the House, Dunbar served as the Majority Caucus Chair and sat on the Rules Committee and the Committee on Committees. In December 2020, he was one of 75 state lawmakers who signed letters urging review of the 2020 presidential election, including a request to Congress to reject electoral votes not regularly or lawfully certified and to review state election policies.
