Nicole Scherzinger on screen and on stage
Nicole Scherzinger is an American singer and actress known for her work on screen, music videos, TV, and stage in both the West End and Broadway. She first appeared on TV as a contestant and joined Eden's Crush from Popstars USA. After the group broke up in 2002, she acted on shows like My Wife and Kids and appeared in Chasing Papi. She became famous worldwide as the lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls from 2003 to 2009, and worked on other artists' projects and videos, including P. Diddy's Come to Me. In 2007–2008 she released solo videos from her shelved solo project, and the 2009 Jai Ho video was nominated for a VMAs.
During a break from the group, she judged The Sing-Off and later won Dancing with the Stars. She also became a judge on the X Factor, first in the UK as a guest and then as a main judge in the US, a run that sparked controversy. She released the solo album Killer Love in 2011 with videos for Poison, Don't Hold Your Breath, Right There, Wet, and Try with Me. She appeared in Men in Black 3 in 2012 and continued as a judge on the British X Factor in several seasons, earning a 2017 National Television Award nomination.
Scherzinger released more music from Big Fat Lie in 2014 and appeared on several variety shows in 2015. She voiced Sina in Moana (2016) and starred in the Dirty Dancing TV remake in 2017. On TV today, she is a panelist on The Masked Singer. In theater, she made her West End debut in Cats as Grizabella in 2014, and in 2023 starred in Sunset Boulevard as Norma Desmond, winning the Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical; she reprised the role on Broadway the following year.
