Geomalacus oliveirae is a small land slug that breathes air. It belongs to the Arionidae family, the round-back slugs. This species is found in Portugal and Spain, living in Mediterranean shrubland and on granite, and it can be found under trees such as birch, pine, and juniper up to about 1300 meters above sea level. It has a body with four black bands; the inner bands are sometimes interrupted, and the outer bands are clearly separated from the light background. Preserved specimens are about 20 mm long. A distinctive feature of its reproductive system is that the genital retractor attaches farther forward on the back than in related species.
