Gaudencia Makokha
Gaudencia Makokha is a Kenyan volleyball player who specializes in beach volleyball. She was born on November 15, 1992, in Nairobi and plays for Kenya Pipeline, wearing number 17.
She has represented Kenya on the national beach volleyball team, including at the postponed Tokyo 2020 Olympics (held in 2021).
Career highlights:
- 2017: Makokha and Naomi Too reached the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships in Vienna, earning $3,400 in prize money.
- 2019: The pair won a silver medal at the African Games in Rabat, Morocco.
- 2021: In the African Olympic qualifiers in Rabat, Naomi Too was injured, so Brackcides Khadambi joined Makokha to pair up. Kenya’s team also included Yvonne Wavinya and Phosca Kasisi. They trained in Mombasa and headed to Tokyo, with their first match against Brazil on August 26. Makokha later partnered with Brackcidise Agala at the Olympics.
- 2023–2024: Makokha teamed up with Yvonne Wavinya, and they were set to compete at the African Games in Ghana in 2024.
