Francesco Calzavara
Francesco Calzavara (born 18 September 1964 in San Donà di Piave) is a Venetist politician from Veneto, Italy. He has been a member of Liga Veneta–Lega Nord since 1993 and has been active in Jesolo’s local politics.
He briefly followed Renato Martin out of Liga Veneta, but in 2002 he was elected mayor of Jesolo after beating the centre-right candidate who was backed by his former party. After reconnecting with the party, Calzavara was re-elected mayor in 2007, defeating Martin again.
From 2012 to 2015 he served as the municipal secretary (local party secretary) of Liga Veneta in Jesolo. In 2015 he was elected to the Regional Council of Veneto, where he led a committee for five years. Re-elected in 2020, Calzavara became regional minister of Planning, Budget, Patrimony and Local Government in Luca Zaia’s third government.
