No. 161 (Bomber Reconnaissance) Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force served in World War II. Based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, it was active from 1943 to 1945. The squadron’s main role was anti-submarine patrols as part of RCAF Eastern Air Command, protecting the North Atlantic and the St. Lawrence. It flew Digby and Canso aircraft before being disbanded on 31 May 1945. Its battle honours include the North-West Atlantic 1943–1945.
