Foozia

Content sourced from Wikipedia, licensed under CC BY-SA 3.0.

Foozia minuta was a vascular land plant from the Emsian stage of the Early Devonian. It had a main stem with several side branches that divided at most once. Some branches carried oval to semicircular sporangia containing the spores Dibolisporites echinaceus, while the sterile branches may show early leaf-like growth. Fossils have been found in Belgium, and Foozia’s exact classification is still unsettled. It is related to ferns.
