Fathead (subtitled Ray Charles Presents David 'Fathead' Newman) is the debut studio album by American jazz saxophonist David "Fathead" Newman. It was recorded on November 5, 1958 at Atlantic Recording Studios in New York City and released in 1960 by Atlantic Records. The music blends R&B and jazz and runs 37 minutes and 9 seconds. The album was produced by Jerry Wexler and Nesuhi Ertegun. It is also known as Ray Charles Presents David 'Fathead' Newman and is sometimes called Ray Charles Sextet. The complete album was later reissued in the 2-CD compilation It's Mister Fathead, which adds three other Newman releases.
