Good Hope, Illinois is a small village in McDonough County. The population was 363 at the 2020 census.
Geography
- The village covers 0.30 square miles, all land, and sits about 712 feet above sea level.
- U.S. Route 67 runs through Good Hope as Monmouth Street, connecting it to Macomb 7 miles to the south and Roseville 12 miles to the north.
- Water drains from the area toward the Town Fork, which eventually leads to the La Moine River and the Illinois River.
History
- Good Hope was settled by 1840 and was sometimes spelled “Goodhope” in the past.
Education
- The village is in West Prairie Community Unit School District 103.
- Elementary students attend North Elementary in Good Hope, while middle school is in Colchester and high school (West Prairie High) is in Colchester.
