Evelina Stading
Evelina Stading (1797–1829) was a Swedish landscape painter. She was born in Stockholm and was related to the opera singer Franziska Stading. She studied art in Stockholm with Carl Johan Fahlcrantz and continued her studies in Germany and Italy. This was unusual for a Swedish woman in the 1820s, and she was admired as a pioneer for her travels and studies abroad. From 1824 to 1827 she studied in Dresden, and in 1827 she went to Rome via Prague and Florence, traveling with her aunt. She died of a breast inflammation in Rome. Her paintings are kept at the National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design and at Östergötlands museum.
