Peter Chisnall (born 22 January 1949) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for North Melbourne in the VFL. He came from Corowa and began with North Melbourne in 1968. He played 80 games for the club, scoring 14 goals, over a career that lasted until 1976. After a dispute, he spent 1971–72 with Sandringham in the Victorian Football Association, playing 22 games, before returning to North Melbourne in 1974 and becoming a key wingman. In the 1975 Grand Final he had 16 kicks, 2 marks and 6 handballs, totalling 24 possessions, helping North Melbourne win the premiership. He balanced football with work as a butcher.

Chisnall later coached in Tasmania and Victoria. He was the playing coach of New Norfolk in 1977 and 1978, and returned in 1990 as a non-playing coach during a tougher period for the club. In 1986 he coached Port Melbourne in the VFA, helping the team rise to the front of the ladder before finishing strongly and being defeated by Sandy Bay in the 1990 TFL Elimination Final. He stayed with New Norfolk through 1991 and 1992, but after two disappointing seasons and a heated on-field incident, he resigned at the end of 1992.

In 1993 he worked as a boundary rider on ABC-Television's TFL Statewide League broadcasts. He then became senior coach of Launceston for the league’s statewide debut in 1994, but the team won only two of 36 matches through 1995 (one win came via a match awarded due to the opposition using an unregistered player). After leaving Tasmanian football, Chisnall was reported to be living in rural Victoria and running a hotel.
