Emericella is a former genus of fungi in the family Trichocomaceae, within the Ascomycota group. It was named after Emeric Streatfield Berkeley (1834–1898), a British botanist and military officer.

Key points
- The species once placed in Emericella were the sexual forms (teleomorphs) of fungi in the Nidulantes subgenus of Aspergillus.
- In 2011, the “one fungus, one name” rule led to merging these fungi under Aspergillus; Emericella is now mainly used to describe emericella-type morphologies.
- By 2020, these teleomorph features are described as morphotypes rather than separate taxonomic units.

Chemistry
- Stromemycin has been found in marine Emericella. It is a C-glycoside and a depside that inhibits matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs).
