Irina Emeliantseva (born September 26, 1973, in Seltso, Bryansk Oblast, Russia) is a Russian composer of orchestral and chamber music. She has worked with major ensembles, including the Dresden Symphony Orchestra, the Russian Chamber Philharmonic St. Petersburg, and several Berlin groups. Her works have been conducted by Yuri Serebryakov, Jonathan Stockhammer, Evan Christ, and Jürgen Bruns, among others. She studied in Bryansk, at the St. Petersburg Conservatory, and later at the Hanns Eisler in Berlin and the University of Music Carl Maria von Weber in Dresden, earning honors at the latter. Emeliantseva has won several composition prizes and has held composer‑in‑residence fellowships. Her music is regularly performed at festivals and broadcast on radio, and she also performs as a pianist in contemporary music. She has given premieres of works by modern composers and her own pieces, and her recordings have appeared on CD releases; her works are published by a Berlin publisher.
