Embassy of Argentina, Paris
Argentina's Embassy in France is the diplomatic mission of the Argentine Republic in Paris. The ambassador, since 2024, is His Excellency Ian Sielecki. The embassy sits at 6 rue Cimarosa, in Paris's 16th arrondissement. The building is a Belle Époque mansion designed by architect Jacques Hermant. It was commissioned by Léon Orsodi in January 1895, who lived there until 1923. In January 1926, the building was purchased in the name of the Argentine government following a message from President Marcelo Torcuato de Alvear, via Ambassador Frederico Alvarez de Toledo, but without executive authorization. The next government refused the purchase, and the house became the ambassador's residence in a personal capacity. The embassy's headquarters were finally established there on February 10, 1964. Previously, in 1900, the embassy was at 9 rue Alfred de Vigny in the 8th arrondissement.
