Carta Clara is a Mexican beer from Yucatan. It was brewed by Cervecería Yucateca, a local brewery founded in 1886 by José María Ponce. Nestor Rubio Apulche became a partner in 1900, and Carta Clara began production then. The beer wasn’t produced continuously for long, but Grupo Modelo relaunched it in 2021. Cervecería Yucateca also made other beers, like Leon and Leon Negra. The brand’s legacy in Yucatan includes Estadio Carta Clara (Parque Carta Clara), which hosted the Leones de Yucatan baseball team from 1954 to 1981. The Jardin de Espectáculos Carta Clara (Jardin Carta Clara) in Mérida remains open for public events.
