Embalse Nuclear Power Station is a nuclear plant in Argentina, located on the southern shore of a reservoir on the Río Tercero near the town of Embalse in Córdoba province, about 110 km from Córdoba City. It uses a CANDU pressurized heavy water reactor that runs on natural uranium and uses heavy water for cooling and neutron moderation. The plant has a thermal power of about 2,109 MW and generates around 648 MW of electricity (net output about 600 MW, later upgraded to 635 MW). It also produces cobalt-60, a radioisotope used in medicine and industry.

Construction began in 1974. The reactor reached first criticality on 13 March 1983 and started commercial operation on 20 January 1984. It was built by a Canadian-Italian team (AECL and Italimpianti). In 2015 the plant was taken offline after about 30 years of operation. In 2016 four steam generators were replaced as part of a life-extension program, and the plant restarted on 4 January 2019 with an upgraded gross capacity of 683 MW and net 635 MW. Today Embalse is one of three operating nuclear plants in Argentina.
