James Robert Martin (born 20 April 1981) is an Australian Labor Party politician who serves as the member for Stretton in the Queensland Legislative Assembly. He was elected on 24 July 2021 in a by-election after the death of Duncan Pegg. Before his election, he worked as Pegg's electorate officer from 2015 to 2021. In 2020 he ran for Brisbane City Council in the Calamvale Ward but was not elected, though Labor gained an 11.4% swing toward Labor. He holds a bachelor's degree from Griffith University and a master's degree from the University of Queensland. His previous jobs include electorate officer, industrial advocate and union organiser.
