Edo University, Iyamho
Edo University, Iyamho (EDI) is a public state university in Edo State, Nigeria. It was established in 2016 as Edo State University, Uzairue, and later renamed Edo University, Iyamho in December 2024 by Governor Monday Okpebholo. The university is located in Iyamho, a town in Etsako West Local Government Area.

History
- In 2014, the Edo State House of Assembly approved a bill to establish a University of Science and Technology at Uzairue.
- The plan was later changed to Edo University and moved to Iyamho.
- On March 23, 2016, the National Universities Commission (NUC) approved Edo University as Nigeria’s 41st state university.
- In December 2024, the university was renamed from Edo State University, Uzairue to Edo University, Iyamho.
Ranking and achievements
- In 2018, Edo University ranked first among state government–owned universities and third among Nigerian universities in the National Universities Commission’s Open Educational Resources repository.
