Chad Boat
Chad Boat (born January 30, 1992) is an American dirt-track racer and team owner from Phoenix, Arizona. He is the son of former driver Billy Boat. Chad started racing in quarter midgets at age five and quickly won state and regional titles before moving into USAC and, later, NASCAR development racing.
In NASCAR, Boat competed in 17 Xfinity Series races over 2014–2015, with a best finish of 29th. His first Xfinity race was the 2014 Drive4COPD 300 at Daytona, and his last was the 2015 Hisense 300 at Charlotte. He also raced in four Truck Series events in 2015, with a best finish of 38th; his Truck debut was the 2015 Mudsummer Classic at Eldora.
Away from NASCAR, Boat co-owns Tucker/Boat Motorsports, a USAC National Midget team. The team won the 2020 USAC National Midget Championship with driver Chris Windom, making Chad the first former USAC National Midget racer to own the season’s championship-winning car with another driver.
Boat also tried Indy Lights in 2017 with Belardi Auto Racing for oval events at Iowa Speedway and Gateway Motorsports Park. He studied finance at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
He married Casey Haimes on January 26, 2019. Casey was a co-host of the Door Bumper Clear podcast. They have two daughters, Chloe (born 2020) and Carter (born 2024).
