EXIM Bank of Pakistan
Export-Import Bank of Pakistan (EXIM Bank) is the government’s official export credit agency, based in Islamabad. It aims to support Pakistan’s exports and import substitution by offering trade financing, credit insurance, equity participation and other services to help exporters compete globally and attract foreign investment. The bank started as a public limited company on June 11, 2015, and was later designated a Development Finance Institution. It became a state-owned bank in October 2022 under the Export-Import Bank of Pakistan Act, 2022 (approved by the Senate on Sept 30, 2022 and signed into law on Oct 14, 2022). EXIM Bank was officially launched on December 22, 2023. In March 2025, the Economic Coordination Committee approved phasing out the State Bank of Pakistan’s long-term financing to EXIM Bank. As of June 2025, it holds a long-term AAA rating from PACRA. The President & CEO is Shahbaz H. Syed. Website: eximbank.gov.pk.
