Duo is a piano duo of Stephanie Ho and Saar Ahuvia who perform four-handed piano works. Ho studied religion and piano performance at Oberlin College. Both Ho and Ahuvia earned graduate performance degrees at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University, where they studied with Leon Fleisher. They have a varied repertoire. Their four-hands arrangement of Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring was noted by The New York Times. They also performed an arrangement of Stravinsky’s Petrushka; the finale was praised by The New York Times as “free of percussion … came through in all [its] visionary clarity.” Duo has released several CDs, including Bach Crossings, described by the Chicago Reader as a “lovely, concise recording” that preserves Bach’s melodies while adding a modern sensibility and fluid rhythm. Their CD Beethoven Dialogues includes Beethoven’s String Quartet No. 6 in G major. A live review of their performance called it a serene and exquisitely realized mix of melody and interaction.
