Dulwich Prep & Senior
Dulwich Prep & Senior (DPS) is an independent school in Dulwich, south London, for boys aged 2–16, with a co-educational nursery. The Headmaster is Louise Davidson.
The school began in 1885 as Dulwich College Preparatory School, opened by Thomas Mason with 13 pupils. It moved to its current site in 1893. A house system was created in 1916 and later renamed as legends. During World War II, the school evacuated to Betws-y-Coed and the original site was bombed in 1941. It became a Charitable Education Trust in 1957 and has since expanded with new buildings and facilities, including a music school (1989), a new building (1995), a library (1999), and a sports hall (2008). A co-educational nursery opened in 2007.
The school was known as Dulwich College Preparatory School, then Dulwich Prep London in 2011. It has no official link with Dulwich College, though they share historical roots.
In May 2023, the school announced plans to open a senior school, starting with Year 9 in 2025. Flexi-boarding began in 2023 at 38 Alleyn Park. In September 2024 the school renamed itself Dulwich Prep & Senior and updated its house system to legends: Phoenix, Lamassu, Gryphon and Pegasus.
