Down Bottom
“Down Bottom” is a hip hop song by Drag-On featuring Juvenile. It was released in August 1999 as the fourth single from Ruff Ryders Entertainment’s Ryde or Die Vol. 1. An official remix with Yung Wun was released and used for the music video; Juvenile appears on the album version but not on the single version, a decision Drag-On said was due to business reasons and learning about the industry. In 2023 it emerged that, around the song’s creation, Drag-On had a rap battle with Pitbull and performed an unreleased verse from “Down Bottom”; Pitbull claimed Drag-On used pre-written lines and was declared the winner. The track received positive reviews: AllMusic praised the production and New Orleans horns, Rolling Stone called it a high-energy highlight of the album, and HotNewHipHop praised Drag-On’s opening and Juvenile’s charisma.
