Douaumont-Vaux
Douaumont-Vaux is a small commune in the Meuse department in the Grand Est region of northeastern France, near Verdun. It was created on January 1, 2019, by merging the former communes of Vaux-devant-Damloup (the seat) and Douaumont.
The commune covers about 112.7 square kilometers and had a population of 81 in 2023, giving a population density of roughly 6.4 people per square kilometer. It is part of the Verdun arrondissement and the Belleville-sur-Meuse canton, within the Grand Verdun intercommunal structure. The mayor for 2020–2026 is Armand Falque. Elevation ranges from 240 to 395 meters above sea level.
