Don't Give Up (Sanctus Real song)
Don't Give Up is a rock‑pop song by Sanctus Real from their 2006 album The Face of Love. It was released as the third radio single in early 2007. The track reached No. 1 on R&R's Christian CHR chart in May 2007, giving the band its fifth No. 1 hit and the second chart‑topper from The Face of Love. It finished 2007 as the sixth most‑played song on Christian contemporary hit radio and peaked at No. 11 on the Hot Christian Songs chart, staying on the chart for 20 weeks. The song is 4:15 long, in the key of D-flat major, and plays at 120 BPM. It’s a rock‑based song about lasting marriages. Lead singer Matt Hammit said it was inspired by close friends who faced divorce, and the band wants to promote lasting love and commitment. Critics have compared it to U2’s Beautiful Day and Coldplay’s Speed of Sound, and it shares a similar style with Sanctus Real’s Fight the Tide. The song was written by Sanctus Real and Christopher Stevens, produced by Christopher Stevens, and released by Sparrow Records. It appears in the single sequence between The Face of Love (2006) and We Need Each Other (2007).
