Jiab Bashafaay

Jiab Abd Rabbuh Bashafaay (born 1974 in Al Kawd, Yemen) is a Yemeni former football forward and manager. He comes from a large family with four siblings and is the younger brother of Yemeni footballer Ali Bashafaay. Nicknamed "Ghost" and married, he began his career with Hassan, wearing the number seven, and was the top scorer of the 1994–95 Yemeni League with 25 goals. He then played for Al-Hilal from 1998 to 2003, where he wore the numbers seven and fifteen.

Bashafaay played for the Yemen national team, including the 1994 Qatar Independence Cup and the 1996 AFC Asian Cup qualification and the 1998 FIFA World Cup qualification campaigns. He was regarded as one of the bright stars from his region in the early 1990s. He later earned the AFC B License and became a manager, including a spell with Al-Hilal, helping them win the 2005 Yemeni President Cup.
