Dongfanghong Subdistrict
Dongfanghong Subdistrict is in Yuelu District, Changsha City, Hunan Province, China. It covers 16.6 square kilometers and has about 45,000 residents (2017). The subdistrict includes Jianshanhu Community and three villages—Heyeba, Hualong, and Jinnan. It comes from the land of the former state-owned Dongfanghong Farm.
History and administration: In 2006, the villages of Jinnan and Hualong (from Huangjin Township) and Heyeba (from Leifeng Town) were moved into Dongfanghong Town from Wangcheng County. In 2015, Dongfanghong Town merged into Lugu Subdistrict. On March 1, 2017, Dongfanghong Subdistrict was created from a community and three villages of Lugu Subdistrict. The area’s residents primarily speak Standard Chinese and the Changsha dialect.
