Dom Bosco (CPTM)
Dom Bosco is a train station on CPTM Line 11–Coral in São Paulo, Brazil. It is located in the Itaquera district at Rua Sábbado D'Angelo, 1024. The station is elevated and has two side platforms. It is owned by the Government of the State of São Paulo and operated by CPTM. The station code is DBO. Architects were João Toscano and Odiléa Toscano.
Dom Bosco opened on 27 April 2000. It used to be called Pêssego during its construction, because it crossed a road named Peach Road. In 1999, State Law 10,427/99 renamed the station to Dom Bosco to honor the Dom Bosco Social Work, a local Catholic charity.
The station lies on Line 11–Coral between Corinthians-Itaquera and José Bonifácio stations, serving the eastern part of São Paulo.
History in brief: In 1987, planners began a project to extend the East-West Line from Itaquera to Guaianazes, including the Pêssego station. Construction started but was halted due to financing issues; work continued intermittently in the following years. In 1995, contracts were renegotiated and CPTM took over supervision. The station opened in 2000 as Dom Bosco.
