Benjamin Morrison
Benjamin James Morrison (born March 11, 2004) is an American football cornerback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFL. He played college football at Notre Dame from 2022 to 2024 and was drafted by the Buccaneers in the second round of the 2025 NFL draft, 53rd overall.
Morrison attended Brophy College Preparatory in Phoenix, Arizona. As a senior in high school, he had 53 tackles and two interceptions and played in the 2022 Polynesian Bowl.
At Notre Dame, Morrison earned immediate playing time as a true freshman in 2022. He debuted against Ohio State with three tackles and a pass breakup, and then started versus California. He had two interceptions against Clemson on November 5 and three more against Boston College on November 19, tying the NCAA single‑game record. He finished the regular season with 33 tackles (22 solo), four pass breakups, six interceptions, and a pick‑six, plus a team‑leading six interceptions in the season. He earned Freshman All‑American honors from several outlets and was named True Freshman All‑American by The Athletic, 247Sports, ESPN, and the Football Writers Association of America. He also drew preseason All‑American recognition.
In 2023, Morrison continued to be regarded as a top cornerback. He recorded his first interception of the season on September 19 against NC State and added an interception against Caleb Williams of USC, helping Notre Dame pull off an upset, but his season ended early due to a hip injury that required surgery. He was again named a preseason All‑American entering the 2023 season.
Morrison entered the 2025 NFL draft after Notre Dame’s run to the CFP National Championship Game. He was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the 53rd overall pick in the second round. As of Week 14, 2025, he has 13 tackles and 3 pass deflections in the NFL.
His father, Darryl Morrison, played in the NFL, and Morrison has four siblings who competed in college sports.
