Throwball in India
Throwball is a growing sport in India. It is governed by the Throwball Federation of India (TFIL), based in Delhi at House No. 336, Village Khera Khurd, Delhi 110082. The president is Bala Bachchan; vice presidents are M. U. Murarkar, R. H. P. Kumar, Karam Singh, and J. L. Khurana; and the secretary is Naresh Mann.
Throwball was introduced in India by Jagat Singh Chauhan, who also organized the first national championships in Jind, Haryana, with help from Shashi Prabha. Chauhan is considered the founder of handball, netball, and throwball in India. The sport is popular in gym classes, colleges, and clubs across the country, and Indian officials helped establish Asian and world-level throwball organizations. The Indian junior throwball team even visited Sri Lanka in 1982.
