Dittany
Dittany is the common name for several different plants. The best known is Dittany of Crete (Origanum dictamnus), a small, fragrant herb native to Crete. It has a oregano-thyme flavor and is used in Greek cooking and in traditional medicine for healing.
Other plants may also be called dittany in different places, so the exact plant can vary. If you need to know exactly which plant someone means, check the scientific name.
