Berlin-Wittenau station
Berlin-Wittenau is a railway station in the Wittenau district of Berlin, Germany. It sits in Reinickendorf and is served by the Berlin S-Bahn and many local buses. It is also the northern terminus of the U-Bahn line U8. The station has one platform and two tracks. S-Bahn services are S1 to Oranienburg and S85 to Grünau, while U8 runs from here toward Hermannstraße.
The station opened on 10 July 1877 as Dalldorf with the Nordbahn. It was electrified for S-Bahn use in 1925. After World War II the line was reduced, and a second track was re-added in the mid-1980s when services were restored and expanded. The U8 extension to Märkisches Viertel opened on 29 September 1994, and the S- and U-Bahn signs include Wilhelmsruher Damm to reflect the local road. Today it serves residents with connections to northern Berlin and the Märkisches Viertel housing estate.
