Discovery Gardens
Discovery Gardens is a neighborhood in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is in the Jebel Ali district and forms the northern part of Jebel Ali Village. Nakheel built Discovery Gardens starting in 2008 as part of the larger Jebel Ali development. The area began in the 1970s when Jebel Ali was planned as an industrial zone with a port and an airport.
Discovery Gardens is known as the greenest area of New Dubai because of its many gardens and trees. It sits between Sheikh Zayed Road and Emirates Road, near Al Furjan, Jebel Ali Village, The Gardens, and the Expo 2020 site.
About 300 buildings stand in the area, with over 26,000 apartments, around 200 shops, and three medical centers. The Discovery Gardens Metro Station on Route 2020 serves residents, on the Dubai Metro Red Line extension to Expo 2020.
The area has faced challenges in the past, including security issues in 2012 and floods in 2013. During the COVID-19 pandemic, rent waivers were offered for residents and commercial properties.
Discovery Gardens remains a popular, garden-filled community with a convenient location.
