Jeanne d'Ussel
Jeanne d'Ussel, also known as Jeanne de Clermont or Jeanne d’Auvergne, was the countess of Forez. She inherited the title and came from the House of Ussel. She married Béraud II, the Dauphin of Auvergne. Through this marriage she brought the fief of d’Ussel in Languedoc and the county of Forez to the family, and she was often called Jeanne de Forez or Jeanne de Clermont because of her husband, Béraud de Clermont, Dauphin d’Auvergne of the Clermont-Tonnerre line. The House of Ussel is an old branch of the viscounts of Limoges, connected to the ancient House of Brittany and to Judicael ap Hoel (Saint Judicaël) of Brittany. Jeanne and Béraud II had one daughter.
