Silvia Cavalleri
Silvia Cavalleri (born 10 October 1972 in Milan) is an Italian professional golfer who has played on the LPGA Tour in the United States and the Ladies European Tour. She turned professional in 1997, joined the Ladies European Tour in 1998 and the LPGA Tour in 1999. Cavalleri became the first Italian to win an LPGA Tour event when she won the Corona Championship in 2007. She has two professional wins in total—one on the LPGA Tour and one on the LET.
As an amateur, Cavalleri had many achievements: she won the 1997 U.S. Women's Amateur, the 1996 World Amateur Championship (individual), and the European Ladies Amateur Championship in 1996 and 1997; she also won the 1990 Girls Amateur Championship. She represented Europe in the Vagliano Trophy several times and played for Italy in the Espirito Santo Trophy (1992, 1996). She earned a degree in architecture from Politecnico di Milano in 1998. Her best LPGA major finishes include T51 at the Chevron Championship (2008), T16 at the Women's PGA Championship (2006), T27 at the U.S. Women's Open (2000), and T25 at the Women's British Open (2001). She lives in Milan.
