Hohenmölsen is a town in the Burgenlandkreis district of Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. It lies about 10 kilometers southeast of Weißenfels and 27 kilometers southwest of Leipzig. The town includes Hohenmölsen itself and the surrounding villages Granschütz, Taucha, Webau, Werschen and Zembschen.

History and highlights
- In 1080, the Battle on the Elster took place near Hohenmölsen.
- The burgward Melsin villa was first mentioned in 1091.
- Hohenmölsen received market rights in 1284.
- The town was hit by major fires in 1558 and 1578 and was almost destroyed in the Thirty Years’ War.
- In the 19th century brown coal was found here, bringing prosperity and electric lights in 1912.
- In the East German era, mining expanded and nearby villages were reorganized into new districts, increasing the population in the 1950s. Brown coal mining still continues nearby at the Profen open-cast mine.

Today
- Major employers are MIBRAG and AGCO. MIBRAG runs a power plant in Wählitz and the Profen open-cast mine. AGCO bought the former barracks in 2009 and invested over €35 million, employing more than 330 people on site. They manufacture Fendt Katana forage harvesters (65 and 85) and Rogator sprayers (300 and 600), and produce tractor components.
- The Mondsee lake, 3 km southeast, is a former open-cast mine that has been revegetated.
- The Asklepios District Hospital closed in 2008. The former General Heinrich August von Helldorff barracks is now used by AGCO.

Sights and culture
- The town center is dominated by three towers—a church tower, a water tower and the town hall tower—giving Hohenmölsen the nickname “City of the Three Towers.”
- The Fox and the Stork, a fable by Aesop, is a local landmark. Its image appears on city lanterns, a fountain on the Altmarkt square, and the town hall tower.

- Population: about 9,395 (as of December 31, 2023).
- Area: 75.31 square kilometers; density about 125 people per square kilometer.
- Elevation: 149 meters.
- Mayor: Andy Haugk (independent), in office since 2011, from the AHL group.
