Dalian Transcendence F.C.
Dalian Transcendence Football Club was a Chinese soccer team from Dalian, Liaoning. It was founded on 18 November 2013 by Zhao Yang with 3 million yuan to start in China’s third tier in 2014. The club played at Jinzhou Stadium in Dalian, which has a capacity of 30,776, and wore blue at home.
The team recruited several players from the former Dalian Shide and was sometimes seen as Shide’s successor, though Zhao Yang said he was neutral about that claim.
Their first competitive match was on 30 March 2014 in the Chinese FA Cup, a 3–0 win at home against Guangxi Liuzhou Liuyue. In the 2014 league season they finished third in their group but were eliminated by Guizhou Zhicheng on away goals. In 2015 they reached the playoff final but lost to Meizhou Kejia on penalties, earning promotion to China League One, the second tier.
In July 2018 the club got its first naming sponsor and played the rest of the season as Dalian Huifeng Automobile Plaza. In 2018 they finished 15th in League One and were relegated.
On 13 January 2019 they failed to sign salary confirmation files and lost their license to play in China League Two, so the club announced they would quit the professional league and become amateur again. The club was dissolved on 14 January 2019.
The club also retired jersey number 17 in honor of Wang Renlong, a forward who passed away in 2014.
